Flu nCoV
   As of 1/25/20 , there have been 1535 laboratory confirmed influenza cases in Washtenaw County. There have been 79 hospitalizations reported. No pediatric
or adult deaths have been reported. As of 1/29/20, both influenza A and B are being diagnosed, with influenza B still predominating. Influenza A H1N1 is also circulating.
**Correction to previous report. The count in previous report was for the week ending in 12/28/19 rather than the total year to date as erroneously reported.

Per MDHHS (Michigan.gov/coronavirus) The
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Chinese authorities identified the new coronavirus, which has resulted
in thousands of confirmed cases in China, including cases outside Wuhan City. Additional cases have been identified in a growing number of other international locations, including the United States. There are ongoing investigations to learn more.

 WCHD is participating in a grant by the National Association Of County And City Health Officials (NACCHO) called “Overdose Prevention and Response Mentorship Program”. As part of this grant, we are offering free naloxone training (using a “train the trainer model”) as well as free naloxone kits.
